Portmagee.

This turned out to be a picturesque little village but quiet busy with tourists. We couldn't beleive how many Germans and Austrians were their, not to mention the Americans. Most flew in to Kerry airport but there were also some who had brought their cars and campers over and were driving around, one from America. On Saturday we cycled around Valentia island visiting the slate quarry, which supplied slate for the Paris Opera House and Westminster Abbey. Also called at the Tetrpaod exhibition before stopping at Knightstown for lunch. There not realy much in Portmagee which can only boast 2 pubs. This is one of the places which run trips to the Skelligs hence our choice of stop.

Pictured with Dee and Ieuan is Graham and Mary from Cornwall. They were touring the peninsula in their camper. We me them at Barloge Creek and our paths kept crossing, so everytime we met we had a chat. They were on their way to the tetrpod site when we were heading for Knightstown. They spotted us in this road side cafe and stopped for lunch with us. This was the last time we saw them as Graham does a lot of voluntary work with over seas aid and was off to Kenya so they were making their way home after this.
